Missions that Plymouth Church Supports

Mind, Heart, and Hands Support
  • Charles Hall Youth Services offers group home foster care to over 100 at-risk teenagers each year, assisting them in making the transition from a troubled adolescence to  mature, responsible adulthood.  Plymouth Church provides supplies for the shelter in Bismarck.
  • United Campus Ministry provides spiritual nurture to students at the universities in the Fargo/Moorhead area.  Plymouth Church supports this vital ministry financially and through the efforts of the church community.
  • UCC Coffee Project
  • Sanford/MeritCare Faith Advisory Board
  • Community Homes is a low-income (Section 8) housing development in Fargo owned in part by Plymouth Church.
  • Northern Plains Conference of the United Church of Christ
  • The Churches United for the Homeless Shelter is the only family homeless shelter in the Fargo/Moorhead area.  On the first and third Sunday each month, we make the midday meal following our worship service.  Also, on the fourth Saturday of every month, a Plymouth Meal Crew prepares and serves dinner at the shelter.

Financial and Prayer Support

Our Church's Wider Mission
- We support the work of the United Church of Christ.  Through this giving, we share our Christian Witness all over the world from summer camps to international disaster relief.  This money is offered each year by our church family along with our constant prayers that God use it to share the joy of what we are discovering about the God we know in Jesus Christ.

Special Offerings -
Each year we receive 5 special offerings to support particular ministries.

  • One Great Hour of Sharing Fourth Sunday of Lent
Channels resources for international programs in health, education and agricultural development, emergency relief, refugee ministries, and both international and domestic disaster response, administered by Wider Church Ministries, Global Sharing of Resources.
  • Strengthen the Church Pentecost Sunday
Supports leadership for new and revitalizing congregations, programs for youth and young adults, and leadership development forthe whole church.
  • Neighbors in Need First Sunday of October
Supports ministries of justice and comparison throughout the United States and Puerto Rico, including the Council for American Indian Ministries (CAIM), justice and advocacy, and direct service projects supported by Justice and Witness Ministries.
  • The Christmas Fund
