We have a new Transitional Conference Minister,

 Rev. Deborah Blood.

Please read her message below.

Grace and peace to the People of the Northern Plains Conference!

I am delighted to greet you in this moment of endings and beginnings – mindful of the grief that we all feel at Keith Mills’ death (he was one of my favorite colleagues)– and also aware that we will necessarily be doing a new thing together. My deep thanks go to Rev. Dr. Kevin Cassiday-Maloney, the Search Team and the Conference Council for their warm welcome and discerning process. God has brought us together for such a time as this, of that I am confident.

Once I begin ministering among you in May, my attention will be on meeting people, learning about the churches and people of the Conference, your history, and anything else that will help me build relationships. I’ll be working with Council members to create a plan for travel around the Conference for 2-3 weeks in mid-May-early June. Hopefully I’ll have a chance to connect with many of the members of the Conference. A joyful task for sure.

May we all be listening for God’s still, small voice so that we come to understand where we are led in these challenging times. My prayers are with all of us as we inhabit and navigate this liminal time and space.

In Christ’s peace,

Rev. Blood

5th Sunday Worship - Hymn Sing - May 30, 2021 at 10:30 am

Four times a year, we have five Sundays in the month. Congregations often use this 'extra' Sunday to do something different for worship. Some Pastors will also take the fifth Sunday to enjoy some much-needed time off or to attend worship somewhere else for personal/professional spiritual growth. This next fifth Sunday is May 23rd, and one in which our Pastor is taking some time off. As such, we will still gather for worship but will focus primarily on Hymns and singing. We call this a Hymn Sing. A time of fellowship and worship that offers our voices and songs to God. Music is a very expressive part of worship and often touches the spaces between the liturgy and prayers. If you're looking for something different and want to join us for our Hymn Sing, please feel free to do so. We'll start around 10:30 am and finish about an hour later. It's informal and relaxed; come as you are.
